Where's My Little Bitty Baby?!

I ask Makenzie this question often. All of a sudden, she seems to be growing up very fast. We visited my mom's house recently and since Makenzie wasn't used to sleeping there, she had to be swayed to sleep and while I was doing this, I caught a glimpse of us in the mirror and couldn't believe my eyes! She has gotten so long. This is the exact moment I realized that she's not little anymore. Look at her in this picture (although I do have to admit that this is one of those deceiving pictures, perhaps it's the angle, but I think she looks 4 here):



And who can resist this one?



Then of course, we have this crazy Texas weather that had us pulling out the summer clothes 2 days ago (and me freaking out about what Makenzie would wear because she has very, very few clothes that could pass for summertime weather wear) and tonight it's rainy and in the high 30's! Here's a picture of Makenzie with the daffodils at my mom's. They are daffodils right?



I've also decided that bright turquoise is my favorite color on Makenzie, so hopefully there will be some of that in the spring/summer collections!

At Makenzie's nine month appointment she weighed in at 16.9 pounds (25th percentile) and 27.5" long (50th percentile).

Makenzie also:
*crawls REALLY fast
*stands on her own for as long as 10 seconds - NO hands
*got her third tooth
*likes to unroll the toilet paper - although she doesn't get the chance to do this often; thank goodness bathrooms have doors
*screams out in excitement no matter where we are
*claps
*imitates Dave's AHHH noise after taking a drink - but in her version, Makenzie sticks her entire tongue out of her mouth
*wrinkles her nose
*scrunches up her face and laughs through her nose
*feeds herself finger foods - baby food is for the birds unless it's morning and she's super-hungry
*stands in the bathtub and gives us the "look what I can do" look
*loves to go outside - this morning I opened our front door so she could look at the rain through the storm door and she threw a little temper tantrum when we didn't go all the way out
*shake things that make noise, but not necessarily toys - like her teething tablet container or a plastic water bottle with 2 peanut M&M's inside or my travel sized hair spray
*opens cabinet doors although this is new to her so sometimes she can pull it open but doesn't know she has to move to get it all the way open so she gets really aggravated and screams, one day she will figure it out (without any help from me)

Summary: my baby is growing up! Time for another one?!
